Menorca Collazo developed interest in empowering others, advocacy and interdisciplinary studies at an early age. Having a background in Latino cultures, she developed a curious mind for education relating to socio-economic relations and human services. Due to this, she decided become the first in her family to earn a Bachelor's Degree. She earned her degree in Sociology with a Minor in Criminal Justice.
She attained her degree while working full-time and being a full time-parent to three children. Her dedication and determination did not stop there, she continued her mission by pursuing a Master's degree in Education from Salem State University with High Honors. She is also a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Society. She has been an Associate Probation Officer, Employment and Education Counselor, a Mentor to Young Women and has held many volunteer roles in her community as well as served on various advocacy councils.
She has been a dedicated advocate for people with disabilities for over 20 years. She is a native of Puerto Rico and loves to travel with her family. When she is not helping others, or facilitating motivational self-help groups she is with her donating her various charities.
